Factors used for stock selection

  1. Momentum- Refers to the tendency of stock price trends to persist – stocks that have outperformed recently are likely to continue to outperform, and vice versa. The momentum score for each company is determined based on its 6-month and 12-month price return, adjusted for volatility.

  2. Quality- Refers to stocks of companies with strong financial health, consistent earnings, low debt, and efficient management. The quality score for each company is determined based on return on equity (ROE), financial leverage (Debt/Equity Ratio) and earnings (EPS) growth variability analysed during the previous 5 years.

  3. Value- Refers to stocks that are considered undervalued compared to their intrinsic worth, often trading at lower valuations.  The value score of each company is determined based on Earnings to Price ratio (E/P), Book Value to Price ratio (B/P), Sales to Price ratio (S/P) and Dividend Yield.

  4. Low-Volatility- Refers to stocks that exhibit relatively lesser price movements compared to the broader market. Volatility is calculated as the standard deviation of daily price returns (log normal) for last one year.
